orange range is lu~rve! their songs always remind me of summer and very much influenced by their okinawan background. some of my faves are shanghai honey, locolotion, ishindenshin, viva rock and of course, the very tender hana. so when i first heard this song i was like, “is this really their song? 0_o ?” since there’s a girl singing instead of the usual vocalists.

i usually put this on my “umi playlist” whenever i go to the beach…and since i’ll be going surfing tomorrow, i decided to translate this song. it’s full of nonsense stuff but it basically talks about how one cannot wait for summer to come. i loove how you could hear the sea at the start and end of this song and the way the girl giggles like she’s laughing at herself for singing such a crazy song. i don’t know whether she talks about chip or tips in the last stanza though…^^; listen to it here and tell me whatcha think ^__~.

for those who don’t know yuna ito, she’s a japanese-korean born and raised in hawaii who made her debut as reira of trapnest for the 2 nana movies. i looove all her songs and originally wanted to translate mahaloha but since that’s been done before i decided on this song instead. when i heard it i, well, got stuck on it (bad pun i know :P) and i guess this suits my current situation…ahahaa mebbe cos it’s valentines week? i dunno.

i did this translation upon request of my 3 friends who’s in a girl group together. they wanted to perform this ending theme from otogi zoshi but could not find even the romaji or original lyrics on the net so they asked me to just transcribe it for them. i liked the song a lot so i decided to translate it as well…and now i’ve just checked and someone already had translated this. owell…this was made after i came back from japan sometime in 2005 so this is another oldie. having nothing to rely on at the time but my ears, looking at the lyrics again me realize i made some mistakes! >_<  anyway here’s the updated version ^^;

this was what i was talking about in my second post. my very first attempt at translating a jpop song!!! we looked all over for the translations to this but couldn’t find any so i decided that i’ll get good enough to be able to translate this. i love aiko’s songs but this one was the one that hooked me in….the message is very heartwrenching and poignant. so for all the folks who’ve just broken up with their lover, this one’s for you.

i’ve had this song playing over and over in my playlist at seeqpod but didn’t even know the title nor the artist’s name. i was just pleasantly surprised to find out in one of the gigs i hosted that this song was included in the ouendan game for ds-light. and i looooved the band who did the cover, their playlist never fails to make me wanna cry and sing along.

now, i was stuck on this song for quite some time so pardon me if there are any mistakes in my translation. the line with the (*) was the hardest part of all…yaiko used lots of difficult words that was beyond my (dwindling) vocabulary. also, i just noticed for the first part, you can’t hear the iku at the end of the lines cos yaiko didn’t sing those parts. owell, enough of this talk, here you go guys…^^;

i wanted to put up my very first attempt at translating a japanese song (don’t worry you’ll soon find out what that was ^^;) but since i’m not living at home where my files are, i just decided to start with the most recent translation i made. i think i did this sometime around christmas upon request of one of my friends…which was funny cos in person we never really talked much but when we chat it seems like we’ve known each other forever! anyway, i hope she keeps singing cos she has a lovely voice and she never fails to amaze me…this is my way of saying thanks to her for listening to my pathetic love story. hahaha ^^

hi everyone…it’s been a while since i last blogged so just wanted to try this layout out first hehehe^^; my last posts in my previous blog have been mostly japanese song lyrics with some translations so i decided to make my next one well, a translation blog of some sort.

here i’ll be posting translations done by me and why i chose to translate that particular song. expect a lot of personal notes and what-nots before you can see the actual translation itself. some of the songs might already have translations elsewhere but i’d still post them if they are really close to my heart and if i have a different take on that song.

just a request: please ask for permission if you want to post one of my translations elsewhere. i would usually say ok as long as you give me credit for it and lemme know where it’s going ^^
