L’arc~en~CHELLI

i know this is not a translation like all my other posts but i need to rant somewhere ^^;; last friday, me and my friends flew to hong kong to watch l’arc-en-ciel perform live at the asia world expo in hong kong. i’ve already watched the smile tour in tokyo back in 2004 so i wasn’t really keen on the idea but my twin sister convinced me to go as they will be on a 3-year hiatus after this one.

and so we arrived…it was bound to be an interesting day as when we were lining up for immigration, jiro of the taiwanese boyband fahrenheit was there as well! outside some fans where also waiting for mike he, aka hebe. apparently these two had the same idea and flew in to watch the same concert ^^ while waiting for my friend triccie to pick us up, we ate at burger king and wandered around, looking at the arrival times and wondering which flight l’arc was on. it was just a joke between us that we would stalk them at the airport but then we thought, hey, why not since we’re already here? so we dump our stuff and rushed back to airport…i think it was really fate as we nearly missed the bus back and had to run after it, while our two other friends rjene and hime took a taxi instead of the hotel shuttle bus to the airport.

when we arrived the airport was swarming with gothic lolitas, harajuku-dressed fans, security guys, and lotsa bananas(?!) in peoples’ hands! we also waited and my twinsister chenn was nearly hyperventilating with the anticipation…and just like a scene from a movie, one girl pointed and screamed in cantonese. l’arc has arrived!!!

chaos ensued: we were running and screaming and i gave up trying to take a video on my cellphone as i thought i would drop it. a bunch of fans fell beside me…and i didn’t know my friend hime was there at the bottom of that pile ^^;; the band was led outside thru the entrance below so we ran outside and went down the stairs. since we were shorter than everyone else, me, chenn and hime just waited one level above the crowd and took pics and vids from above. i was screaming in japanese and jumping up and down to get them to look at us so we can get a decent shot. hyde looked up a li’l, i must’ve looked really strange up there ^^;; tetsu was sooo cute and i was practically drooling over his hair *0* ken and yuki were both wearing caps so it was kinda hard to see their faces. rjene and triccie went on ahead and got shots of hyde and tetchan while me and chenn chased yuki to his car…no one was calling out his name so we both yelled and we caught him on video looking at us…i thought i had died. XD

everyone was yelling with triumph long after the cars bearing l’arc have gone to their hotel…me and my friends stood there taking a video and blabbering how it felt to see them so close. chenn’s bag was broken, triccie and i were still a bit dazed, hime had bruises from the “stampede” and rjene found out she lost her cellphone! she started crying because she was so overwhelmed and hugged me…and i realized that cameras were flashing all around us!!! i covered my face and led my friends away…but it was too late as the next day, we saw pictures of ourselves in the same page as the l’arc-en-ciel coverage >_< i have the newspaper with me but i haven’t scanned it yet..pic below is from triccie, taken from the oriental daily news online article.

and if it wasn’t enough, the girl who was nice enough to return rjene’s cellphone was featured as well because she was pushing her baby around in a stroller while looking for us. the hk media thought it was a good story, 5 foreigners coming in to watch and a mom with her baby chasing after l’arc ^^;; she later called and asked the paper to take that statement back because she wasn’t really a fan and was just nice enough to give the cellphone back…we all feel bad for dragging her along in our fangirl craziness ^^;; if you wanna see more pix of their arrival and look for us as well, click HERE.

hmm…i was gonna make just one big post for this but this is already pretty long^^;; i’ll make another post for the concert itself, but i feel like more stuff happened at the airport than at the concert hahaha ^^ standby for the next post…and if you’re interested in the pics and vids we took just lemme know ^^
